Fund the Future of Thankyou
We launched Chapter One, and for the first 4 years after launch, we had an unconventional pricing strategy: it had no RRP. It was what we called, Pay What You Want (PWYW).
Chapter One wasn’t, and still isn’t, just a book. It was an invitation to join a movement and invest in an idea that could change the course of history.
You’ll see that Chapter One has changed and now is the owner of an RRP. Why the change? We always saw PWYW as a launchpad which worked for us for 4 years, but it’s not the final destination. In Chapter Two you’ll hear a little more about the shift to RRP. What hasn’t changed? All the profit from Chapter One will still go to funding the future of Thankyou.

About The Book
CHAPTER ONE is a story of epic proportions by Thankyou co-founder Daniel Flynn. Thankyou was started back in 2008 by a few Australian kids from Melbourne with little business experience and the shared belief that we all have the power to change stuff. Their journey is a bumpy and entertaining ride of gut-wrenching decisions, wild mistakes and daring moves in business, marketing, social enterprise and beyond, all in pursuit of a world where not one person lives in extreme poverty.
Chapter One is more than a book. It’s an invitation, addressed to you. To inspire you to challenge what you know and remind you that crazy ideas can become a reality. It’s also an opportunity to be a part of something big. Something that could change the course of history.
Daniel is married to Justine (Thankyou co-founder) who he was dating when Thankyou started. He’s father to who he would argue is the most gifted child on earth, Jedediah. Of course, he’s competing with every parent on the planet on this claim!
Daniel was 19 when Thankyou began and he’s as passionate today about the vision as the day it started. We’ve been on this journey for over a decade now but if you asked him where we are at he’d tell you: it’s just the beginning.
Outside of Thankyou, Daniel’s really passionate about others making their own ideas and dreams a reality. He believes that everyone has the power to do something extraordinary and make a remarkable impact on the world.
